Smoking Survivors

Fresh is launching the next phase of our “Smoking Survivors” campaign across the North East and North Cumbria from New Year 2026.

First launched in 2023, at the heart of the “Smoking Survivors” campaign are the powerful real stories of people from our region harmed by smoking. They share their experiences and the huge benefits of quitting.

Evaluation from Sept/ Oct 2024 found over 7/10 people who smoke in the North East saw or heard the campaign, and of those who saw it, 6/10 were more motivated by the benefits of quitting. Since the launch, activity has resulted in over 160,000 landing page views to the FreshQuit website.

Smoking Survivors is part of a shared commitment by the 12 North East local authorities and the North East and North Cumbria NHS ICB for a smokefree future, free from the death and disease from tobacco.
