Young people and vaping – resources for schools
Smokefree Sheffield, in collaboration with ASH and supported by Fresh, has published an updated set of youth vaping resources for use by schools, colleges, youth settings and safeguarding leads.
Whilst the most effective way of protecting children and young people is to take a broad, population-based approach which reaches the whole community and changes the adult world in which we live, we recognise that there is a need for school-based resources to help support informed discussions and decision-making. As such, the aim of these resources is to:
- provide evidence-based information on youth vaping
- enable young people to make informed decisions and have trusted conversations about vaping
The toolkit comprises of:
- A knowledge presentation to support lesson planning and equip teachers to be discussion-ready
- Lesson plan for schools with example activities
- An animation on vaping and young people
- A classroom presentation to support discussions and where to access further advice and support
- Posters x2
